Hydrogen release from Mg[(N[H.sub.2]).sub.2]-Mg[H.sub.2] through mechanochemical reaction
Article Abstract:
The reaction between magnesium amide and hydride at a molar ratio of 1:2 by means of mechanical ball mining has resulted in the release of a stoichiometric amount of [H.sub.2] and the formation of magnesium nitride. Thermodynamic calculations have shown that the hydrogen release reaction of [1Mg[(N[H.sub.2]).sub.2] + 2Mg[H.sub.2] is mildly endothermic, but the low reaction enthalpy has predicted impractical operation conditions of the hydrogen uptake reaction.

Enhanced field emission from multiwall carbon nanotube films by secondary growth
Article Abstract:
A study on nickel, gold and ferritin coatings on catalytically growth multiwall carbon nanotubues as well as the generation of secondary nanotubues to the chemical vapor deposition process was conducted. The results revealed that the nickel layers or ferritin served as catalyst, which clearly improved the field emission characteristics of the nanotube samples.

Tungsten oxide nanowire growth by chemically induced strain
Article Abstract:
The formation of tungsten oxide nanowires under different chemical vapor deposition (CVD) conditions is investigated. The results show that exposure to both hydrogen and methane strongly enhances the formation of nanowires on (natively) oxidized W films during CVD processing.
